In order to carry out the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, to strengthen the cultural exchanges between Chinese and the foreign, to promote the international communication capacity and train international talents with international vision and the ability to communicate, as well as to improve the national cultural soft power, China Education Association for International Exchange held a working conference on the international cultural exchange between teachers and students and the new project school of enrolling foreign teachers at Shijiazhuang No. 42 Secondary School during April 11 to 13.

The attendees are secretary-general of China Education Association for International Exchange Zhao Lingshan, deputy director-general of the Hebei Education Department Li Shengli, vice secretary of China Education Association for International Exchange Zhang Ling, committee chairman of China Education Association for International Exchange Yang Meng, commissioner of international cooperation and exchanges of Hebei Education Department Hou Jianguo, officer of international cooperation and exchanges of Hebei Education Department Li Shoumin, party committee secretary of Xinhua district Liu Jianfang, warden of Shijiazhuang city Xinhua district Liu Zhenqian, deputy director of Shijiazhuang city bureau of education, Ma Jianguo, deputy warden of Shijiazhuang city Xinhua district Tian Rongfeng, shijiazhuang city bureau of education, commissioner of teachers' work and education exchanges department of Shijiazhuang city bureau of education Gao Jianhua, chief of Shijiazhuang Xinhua district education bureau Zhang Hui, Principal of Shijiazhuang No.42 Secondary School, director of the Chinese and foreign communication between teachers and students department of China Education Association for International Exchange li Yang, and 83 directors of the project offices from 27 areas of 12 provinces in China.

The conference began with the speech of deputy director-general of Hebei Education Department, Li Shengli. Li Shengli introduced the plan of the development of education and the condition of cultural exchanges with other countries in Hebei province. 

Zhao Lingshan, secretary-general of China Education Association for International Exchange, talked about the developing course of the association, its important status and role on the development of Chinese education.

Then, Zhang Ling, vice secretary of China Education Association for International Exchange, made the work report. It pointed out the working direction of foreign exchange in the future and enhanced the confidence.

Li Shoumin, officer of international cooperation and exchanges of Hebei Education Department and leaders from different ranks attached great importance to the project. He introduced the recent development and concrete practice of AFS project in Hebei province. Li said that Shijiazhuang No.42 Secondary School, as AFS program management office in Hebei province, actively shared its project experience, continuously promoted international communication in Hebei province and achieved fruitful results. It has made positive contributions to education development, Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges and communication in people’s hearts all over the world.

Yang Meng, committee chairman of China Education Association for International Exchange, brought all the participants the wonderful foreign affairs management training with specific examples, concise language and his unique angle of view and rich experience. Yang said, international education is a complex career that is different from general education. It not only needs to bear the heavy responsibility but also need to transform the way of thinking and improve the political level. Only then can we improve our ability to communicate with the students from other countries.

In 2018 annual meeting of Boao Forum for Asia, chairman Xi Jinping pointed out that "China's door won't shut down, and it would be more open". So is international education exchange enterprise. "For the future, we should embrace inclusiveness, keep harmony in diversity, strengthen bilateral and multilateral framework of culture, education, youth cooperation, and promote mutual learning among civilizations." Participants said that the success of the conference made them more confident. They will spread the Chinese idea with a more active attitude, and make new contribution for the career of Chinese education international cultural exchange.
