German Heinrich the Metzndorf visited China
On April 8, 2010 to April 19, 2010 our school welcomed Principal Wolfgang Freudenberger and five other teachers from German Heinrich Metzndorf School.
German Heinrich the Metzndorf School is one of our sister schools. During July, 2009, five teachers from our school went to Germany for an one-week visit.
In order to let the German teachers experience China's educational system and understand China's culture, our school arranged a series of teaching visits.
Entering the Chinese classroom to experience differences
German teachers entered the exchage students’ classroom in our school to know about foreign students study life in China. The German teachers visited Xiyuan Elementary School, Hebei Scientific and Technical University and Hebei Education Committee. Director Hou of the International Department with Hebei Education Committee welcomed the German teachers warmly and they talked about education aspects. This helped the German teachers understand our country's education system. On April 14, the German teachers entered class 3, senior 1 in our school and attended a vivid English lesson.
Visiting China scenic spots, historical sites and coming to know
The German teachers visited the old city of Pingyao and the Qiao Family Yard. They were very interested in the ancient civilized ruins and vestige and numerous historic buildings, exclaimed ancient Chinese intelligence and ability. The Qiao Family Yard is a museum that reflects the customs from a person's birth to death and the other customs such as marriage and funeral. All these sites made the German teachers have some understanding of China's traditional custom.
Germans awed by Chinese acrobatics, learned about Buddhist culture
On April 13, the German teachers visited the Hebei Acrobatic Troupe, and learned about Chinese acrobatics. They enjoyed watching the acrobatics. On April 15, the German teachers visited the famous Longxing Temple, and learned about China's Buddhism culture.
To help the German teachers learn more about China, the school also arranged a visit to Imperial Palace, Tiananmen, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall, Wangfujing, the Olympic Stadium and other well-known places. China and Germany has reached an agreement about exchange students and exchange visits.
