From December 11 to 14, 2009，jointly organized by China National Office for Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language, the Confucius Institute Headquarters and the State Language Affairs Commission, a Confucius Institute resources and multi-lingual exhibition was held in Beijing National Convention Center. A total of 217 Confucius Institutes from all over the world,  86 well-known publishing houses and promotion institutions at home and abroad, 32 embassies, foreign languages and cultures promotion offices, 42 domestic universities and high schools, 15 overseas universities attended the exhibition. Our school had the great honor to be invited to and actively participated in this Confucius Institute resources exhibition, as one of the three units in Shijiazhuang city, Hebei province. The event provides a vital opportunity for our school to learn from and exchange with other schools at home and abroad. Through this event we get a deep understanding of the new policy and guidance of the China National Office for Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language. Through this exhibition, we can see the brilliant achievements made in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, which greatly encouraged all the schools related to this program in confidence and devotion.
No. 42 Middle School, a key high school as well as a foreign language school, has made great efforts both in foreign languages teaching and teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The school has established friendly relations with more than ten countries, carrying out a variety of colorful exchange activities on a regular basis. As a result, it has sent hundreds of top students to study abroad and nearly a hundred teachers to go abroad for advanced studies. Since 2004, the school has enrolled a total of more than 200 students from dozens of countries such as Japan, the United States, South Korea, Hungary and Germany. Since 2008, the school has established "Confucius Classrooms" in South Korea and the United States one after another with a variety of Chinese promotion and Chinese culture exchange activities carried out. The school will continue its efforts to make contributions to the program of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
